Bihar Mandate a Stamp of Approval on NDA’s Governance: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the overwhelming mandate for the NDA in the Bihar Assembly elections reflects the people’s strong approval of the alliance’s performance on development, women’s safety, good governance and welfare measures for the poor.

In a series of posts on X, Shah said that over the last 11 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked with full dedication for the development of Bihar, while Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has played a crucial role in pulling the state out of the “darkness of jungle raj”.

NDA Poised for a Massive Victory

The NDA was headed for a sweeping victory, leading in nearly 200 of the 243 seats, with the BJP alone achieving close to a 95% strike rate, emerging as the single largest party.
On the other hand, the Mahagathbandhan — comprising the RJD, Congress, and Left parties — was struggling to cross the 35-seat mark, signaling a major setback for the opposition alliance.

“A Salute to the People of Bihar”

“A heartfelt salute to the people of ‘Bihar Bhumi’, the protectors of knowledge, hard work and democracy,” Shah posted, calling the mandate a reaffirmation of the NDA’s “resolute service” to Bihar’s progress.

Shah said every vote cast for the NDA symbolized trust in the Modi government’s strong stance against infiltrators who threaten India’s security and resources. He added that the public has rejected those who allegedly protect infiltrators for vote-bank politics.

Congress ‘Relegated to Bottom Rung’

Shah said the results indicate a nationwide sentiment that voter list purification is essential, adding that there is “no space for politics against it”.
He asserted that the Congress, under Rahul Gandhi, had been relegated to the “bottom rung” in Bihar as a result.

Victory of Aspirational Bihar

Calling the verdict a “victory of every Bihari who believes in a developed Bihar”, the Home Minister said that those who thrived on jungle raj and appeasement politics would no longer get opportunities to “plunder”.
He added that the public now votes solely on the basis of “politics of performance”.

Shah congratulated PM Modi, CM Nitish Kumar, and all NDA leaders and workers — especially the BJP’s booth-level cadre — for their tireless efforts that led to the massive mandate.

He also assured the people of Bihar, “especially our mothers and sisters”, that the NDA government will fully honour the mandate entrusted to it under the leadership of PM Modi.
